2012 NFL Draft Spotlight: Mario Kurn

Height & Weight: 6'2" 238lbs
Position: Defensive End
Hometown: Encinitas, California
College: University of San Diego
High School: Santa Fe Christian

Mario Kurn has to be one of the most exciting players that we ever got a chance to watch. He may not have the typical size of a Defensive End but he can utilize his speed and explosiveness to fight off bigger blockers and get to the ball carrier.

During his breakout season in 2010 he led the FCS in sacks (17), earned 3 FCS All-American honors, and attracted some attention from NFL scouts. Although the numbers weren't as big in 2011, he still found ways to make his presence felt. His nose for the ball and ability to create turnovers on any given play helped lead the Toreros to 9 wins and a PFL championship.

There's a possibility that he could be converted to an outside linebacker or strong safety at the next level. His raw talent alone could make him a solid project player for any team that’s willing to take a chance on him.
