Madison & Santa Fe Christian to play for state championships

2012 CIF State Bowl Championships
Home Depot Center (
Carson, CA)

Madison and Santa Fe Christian will be looking to end their 2012 seasons as the state champions of their division. If either team comes away with a victory, it will be the sixth consecutive season that a San Diego Section team won a state bowl game.

CIF Division IV State Bowl
Friday, December 14th 4:00 p.m.

Santa Fe Christian Eagles (11-3)
vs. Central Catholic Raiders (13-2)

The Santa Fe Christian defense will have a tough task on their hands when they take on Central Catholic's two-man rushing attack. Running backs Ray Lomas IV and Rey Vega have been the bread and butter of the Raiders' offense this season combining for 3223 rushing yards and 55 touchdowns. The Eagles have a reliable run game of their own so don't expect much passing in this match up.

CIF Division III State Bowl
Saturday, December 15th 12:00 p.m.

Madison Warhawks (13-1)
vs. Marin Catholic Wildcats (14-1)

This should be an exciting match up between two teams trying to earn their school's first state championship. Both teams are going into this game with a 12-game win streak and an 0-1 record in state bowl games.
