After welcoming San Diego State and Boise State back to the conference, the Mountain West will split it's 12 football programs into the "Mountain" and "West" divisions starting in the 2013 season. Each team will play five divisional games and three cross-divisional opponents.
The champion of each division will face off for the conference title in the Mountain West Championship Game. The inaugural match up will take place on Saturday, December 7th, 2013 at the home site of the highest-ranked division champion in the BCS standings.
