Surge seeks revenge against Sacramento

The San Diego Surge will finally get their shot at redemption this weekend when they host the Sacramento Sirens in the second round of the WFA playoffs. It will only be the second time these teams face off.
 
Prior to a week four road trip to Sacramento, the Surge had never lost a regular season contest. That changed when the Sirens sent the defending national champions home with a 40-18 defeat. Since then the Surge have outscored their opponents 263-48 en route to a five-game win streak.

San Diego Surge dominate in the 1st Round of WFA Playoffs

 
SANTEE, CA (06/15/13) The San Diego Surge (8-1) will advance to the second round of the 2013 WFA playoffs after a 78-14 win over the Las Vegas Showgirlz (5-4) Saturday evening at Santana High School.

With a 14-14 tie late in the second quarter, the game looked like it was going to be a seesaw battle, but the Surge pulled away with 64 unanswered points to secure the win.

The Surge will have an opportunity to avenge their only loss of the season when they host the Sacramento Sirens (6-3) in the second round next Saturday, June 22nd. The Sirens advanced after a 25-6 win over the Pacific Warriors in their first round match-up.

Surge to host Las Vegas in WFA Playoffs

After closing out another successful regular season, it’s now win or go home for the San Diego Surge as they get set to take on the Las Vegas Showgirlz in the opening round of the Women’s Football Alliance playoffs.

When these teams met in week 7, the defending national champions pulled off a 32-22 win despite a great effort from the Showgirlz. This game will mark their fourth meeting with the Surge owning a 3-0 advantage in the series.

Surge dominate "Battle of San Diego"


 

ESCONDIDO, CA (06/01/13) The San Diego Surge (6-1) clinched their third straight division title this weekend after a dominating performance over the San Diego Sting (1-6) at Calvin Christian High School.

Both teams will close out the regular season next week on their homefields. The Surge will take on the Pacific Warrior at Santana High School before kicking off their title defense in the WFA Playoffs. The Sting returns to Calvin Christian to host the Arizona Assassins.
