Coming off a thrilling last second 35-33 win over Marist, the Toreros will be looking to keep their nine-game PFL win streak alive when they hit the road to face the Dayton Flyers.

While the Toreros control their own destiny in the Pioneer Football League title race, the Flyers will desperately need a win in order to stay in it.

The last time these teams met was last season with the Toreros rolling to a 41-9 blowout win at Torero Stadium. Quarterback Mason Mills set a PFL and school record with 511 yards passing. His main target Sam Hoekstra also set a school record with 246 yards receiving. While the Toreros won the last two games, the Flyers lead the all-time series 14-6.

Impact Toreros

Junior Reggie Bell is having a monster season on the receiving end and is on pace to go well over 1,000 yards. He currently has 35 catches for 642 yards and four touchdowns and has put up over 100 yards in every games except one where he finished with 96 against Stetson.

Senior running back Kenn James rushed for 32 yards last week to put his career total over 2,000 yards. The Mount Carmel product is currently the Toreros’ leading rusher with 451 yards and three touchdowns. Behind him is fellow senior Joe Ferguson who has 383 yards and four touchdowns this season.

The defensive line will be anchored by Blake Oliaro and Steve Gargiulo, the senior tag-team combined for 19 tackles, five sacks, and 6 tackles for losses, and a safety against Marist last week.

With senior Cody Tescher out for the season, the offensive line will feature an all-sophomore tandem featuring left tackle Pono Keni, left guard Daniel Murray, center Tobin Gramyk, right guard Jeff Starr and right tackle Luke Meyer.
