Hit of the Week: Eric Weddle destroys Marquise Goodwin

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (09/21/2014) San Diego Chargers safety Eric Weddle delivered a vicious hit on Buffalo Bills wide receiver Marquise Goodwin during the Bolts' 22-10 road win. The Chargers improve to 2-1 as they return home to host the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-3) next Sunday.

Impact Chargers

QB Phillip Rivers
18/25 for 256 yards & two touchdowns

WR Eddie Royal
Four catches for 42 yards & two touchdowns

DE Corey Luiget
Six tackles, one sack & one forced fumble

Injury Report

During the first drive of the game, running back Danny Woodhead suffered an ankle injury that could possibly end his season. With Ryan Mathews expected to be out for another four weeks due to an MCL sprain in his right knee, the Chargers turned to free agent signing Donald Brown, who carried the ball 31 times for 62 yards, and rookie Brandon Oliver.

Brown's 31 carries were the most for a Chargers running back since LaDainian Tomlinson had the same amount in a 27-0 win over the Oakland Raiders in 2006. Tomlinson rushed for 131 yards during that season-opening Monday night game.
