Cal Poly dominates USD in regular season finale, 34-3

TORERO STADIUM (11/22/2014) Quarterback Chris Brown ran for 93 yards and threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Hines in the second quarter, while his second half replacement Dano Graves added another 94 yards on the ground and accounted for three more touchdowns as the Cal Poly Mustangs (7-5) handed the University of San Diego Toreros (9-2) their second loss in a 34-3 rout to close out the regular season.

USD will learn the opponent and location of their first round playoff game during the NCAA Division I FCS Selection Show airing on ESPN U and the Watch ESPN app on Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. pacific time.

The Torero defense had no answer for Cal Poly's triple-option attack as they allowed 482 yards of total offense. The PFL champions didn't fare any better on offense with their only points coming from a 32-yard field goal by David Last late in the first quarter. The last time the Toreros were held to just three points was during a 31-3 loss at UC Davis in 2011.

Jonah Hodges led the Toreros' ground game with 56 yards on 14 carries. Reggie Bell recorded all three of his catches in the fourth quarter, but led the team with 47 yards. Brandon White had a game-high four catches for 28 yards.

On defense, seniors Troy McClelland and Matt Miller tied for a game-high 14 total tackles.
