After playing its first six season in the Women's Football Alliance, the San Diego Surge will be making the move to the Independent Women's Football League for the upcoming 2018 season.
The team released a statement this morning citing their reason for the move.
Since its inaugural season in 2011, the Surge has built themselves into one of the most successful franchises in the WFA, putting up a total record of 59-10, which includes three national championship appearances and a national title victory in 2012.
