Week 2 Games of the Week

#10 Lincoln Hornets (1-0) at San Diego Cavers (1-0)

After earning convincing wins over out-of-town opponents last week, two of the top teams in the City will face off for what should be the first big test of the season.

Raiden Hunter and Mo Jackson ran wild for the Cavers, combining for 240 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-19 win over Spring Valley (NV).

The Hornets looked unstoppable in their season opener, putting up 54 points in the first half in a 60-0 rout over Bloomington (CA).

Since their first meeting in 1954, Lincoln holds a 30-9 advantage and have not loss to San Diego since 2002.

Publisher's Pick:

El Camino Wildcats (1-0) at #8 Cathedral Catholic Dons (0-1)

To bounce back from a tough loss to La Costa Canyon, the Dons will have to defeat El Camino for the first time ever. The Wildcats, who are 5-0 in this series dating back to 1986, are coming off a 17-16 win over Point Loma.

El Camino running back Rense Garner carried the ball 15 times for 123 yards, including a 79-yard run for a score, while Brock Manber completed 11 of 25 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown pass to Alexander Fetko.

In a losing effort, Cathedral's Shawn Poma rushed for the team's only touchdown in his first game back from an injury suffered last season.
