LOS ANGELES, CA (05/18/2019) Powered by a stellar defensive outing, the San Diego Rebellion (2-2) escaped Los Angeles with a 13-6 victory over the hosting Bobcats (3-2).

On the first play from scrimmage, the Rebellion drew first blood with a 30-yard touchdown run by Merci Scott.

The Bobcats answered in the second quarter when Knengi Martin’s pass was picked off by Tina Frisby and returned 36 yards for a pick-six. Martin blocked the ensuing extra point to keep the Rebellion lead at 7-6 with 8:47 left in the half.

Following a scoreless third quarter, Martin extended San Diego’s advantage with a 17-yard quarterback keeper for the game-clinching score.

Holding on to a 13-6 lead with 9:45 left to play, the San Diego defense continued to shutdown LA’s offense to earn their second straight win.
