Breakdown: Coming off eliminating the defending conference champion Utah Falconz in Utah, these road warriors are now tasked with trying to dethrone the Texas Elite Spartans in Texas. Underdogs for the second straight game, the Rebellion have already proven capable of defying the odds and silencing any doubters. While the San Diego offense has led the way with their one-two punch rushing attack that features scrambling quarterback Knengi Martin, an MVP-nominated year for Adrianna Gutierrez, and a productive veteran group on the offensive line, the receivers have been unsung heroes during this phonomenal run. Players such as leading receiver Katie Ott, rookie standout Sammi Heck, and Ashlee Austin-Bean have all made some clutch plays to keep drives alive or put much-needed points on the board. Not to mention clutch contributions from tight ends Chelsea Parrish and Stephanie Taylor. On the defensive end, Taylor is assisted by perennial all-star Angela "Havik" Mims and Briiana "Simba" Gorrell, who is also a solid running back on the offensive side of the ball. The Rebellion linebacking corp features the playmaking ability of rookie Cachrelle Nguyen, Stephanie Lopez, and Mercedes Tyler, who leads the team in combined tackles. In the secondary, Ott, Austin-Bean, and Taranisha Taylor totaled eight interceptions during the regular season and will be tasked with trying to slow down the top passing attack in the WNFC.

Breakdown: Heading into their second straight WNFC title game, you can argue that the defending WNFC champions have been the top women's football team in the country for all three seasons of their existence. The addition of linebacker Deana Guidry and running back Destanie Yarbrough to an already stacked roster made this team even more dangerous as they swept through their 2021 campaign with seven straight shutouts. The league-low 10 points allowed came during their conference championship win over Alabama. Olivia Griswold, a Defensive Player of the Year nominee who had proven throughout her career to be one of the top pass rushers in women's football, led the league in sacks and finished among the top 10 in combined tackles. Leading the top scoring offense in the league, quarterback Brittany Bushman put together an MVP caliber season thanks to protection from a dominant offensive line and big plays from a receiving group led by Offensive Player of the Year nominee Liz Landry, who led the WNFC in touchdown catches.
