Wide receiver Chris Olave of the New Orleans Saints and linebacker Devin Llloyd of the Jacksonville Jaguars are the NFL Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Month for the month of September.
Olave, a former Mission Hills standout, led all rookies with 268 receiving yards and ranked second with 17 receptions in three games during September. He was the only rookie with at least five receptions and 80 receiving yards in multiple games.
Lloyd led all rookies with 24 tackles (eight per game) and six passes defended and was one of two rookies to record two interceptions during the month of September. The Otay Ranch alum was the only player in the NFL to record three pass defenses in two of the first three games of the season.
