CIF State Championships: Granite Hills and Classical Academy completes San Diego Section sweep

For the first time ever, the San Diego Section will finish a season with four teams winning CIF State Championships after Granite Hills (13-2) and Classical Academy (12-3) got through their hard-fought games Saturday.

Sophomore running back Isaiah Jackson finished with 13 carries for 92 yards and two touchdown runs to help the Eagles earn its first State Championship in team history by beating San Ramon Valley 31-24 in overtime. Junior defensive end Damarrion White made his presence felt by pressuring the quarterback four times while recording a sack, three tackles for losses, and a pass defense.

The Caiman defense kept the shutout intact in a rain-soaked game that remained scoreless until the second quarter. Classical Academy's first state championship was secured with a 5-yard touchdown run by Life Pollard.
