WNFC, home of the San Diego Rebellion, announces new streaming platform

The Women's National Football Conference has announced the launch of wSCORE, a new direct-to-consumer streaming service that will offer unlimited access to all live and on-demand WNFC events, along with a deep archive of league content and original programming. The service is set to launch for the 2023 season and will be priced at $9.99 per month or $39.99 per year. 

The WNFC aims to eliminate the pay-to-play barrier for its athletes by 2025 and hopes that wSCORE will help elevate the visibility of women's football. The service will become the ultimate destination for everything WNFC, offering fans unrivaled access to the league's content.

The San Diego Rebellion will kickoff their 5th season on Saturday, April 1 with a road trip against the Utah Falconz. This will be a rematch from last season's first round playoff bout where fourth-seeded Utah upset No. 1 seed San Diego. In their first meeting, the Rebellion stunned the top-seeded Falconz in the 2021 Pacific Conference Championship.

Dale Lindsey retires as USD head coach

Dale Lindsey, the head coach of the University of San Diego football team, will be retiring from coaching as the winningest coach in program history. Lindsey's departure marks an end of an era and his contribution to the program has been monumental.

During his ten-year tenure, Lindsey achieved a record of 80-30, earning the fourth-best win percentage (72.7%) in FCS history. He also won seven Pioneer Football League titles, made five FCS Playoff appearances, and was named the PFL Coach of the Year three times, as well as being a four-time national coach of the year finalist. Under his leadership, the Toreros put up a 68-9 record in Pioneer Football League contests and tied the FCS record with 39 consecutive conference wins from 2015 to 2021.

In 2016, he led San Diego to its first playoff victory in team history following a 35-21 victory over Cal Poly. A year later he earned his second playoff win after the Toreros knocked off Northern Arizona 41-10.

Lindsey was a former NFL player and had worked with seven different NFL teams including the San Diego Chargers before coaching the Toreros. He was the defensive coordinator at USD before becoming the head coach.

Under Lindsey, several USD student-athletes went on to play in the NFL, including Jamal Agnew, Ross Dwelley, Michael Bandy, and Reid Sinnett.

Lindsey has built a winning tradition at San Diego, not only producing excellent athletes but also instilling valuable life lessons that will last a lifetime. We appreciate the time he took to speak to us after practices and game days. We will miss his humor, honesty, and knowledge of the game as we wish him and his family nothing but the very best during his retirement.

Update: According to a report by the San Diego Union Tribune, Lindsey claims he was relieved from his duties without an explanation and still has a desire to coach.
