The Women’s National Football Conference announced its schedule for the 2020 season, the league’s second year of operation.
Looking to improve on their 2-4 finish to the 2019 campaign, the San Diego Rebellion will play a six-game slate that features three games at the historic Balboa Stadium, as well as trips to Seattle, Phoenix, and Los Angeles.
The new season kicks off the same way the previous ended, a matchup against the Seattle Majestics, who edged the Rebellion 7-0 in the 2019 regular-season finale.
Following a bye, San Diego will travel to Arizona for its first-ever meeting with the Phoenix Prowlers, who enters their first season as a full league member after playing in 2019 as a developmental team.
The Rebellion will return to California the following week but will head north to the city of Angels for their third all-time meeting with the Los Angeles Bobcats. Both teams split the series last season with the road team winning both games.
The month of May will begin with a trip to Washington for a rematch with Seattle, then the squad returns to San Diego to host the Las Vegas Silver Stars. The Rebellion left Vegas with a 32-12 victory when these teams faced each other last season.
The following Saturday, San Diego ends the regular season schedule with their first-ever matchup against the expansion Oregon Ravens.
