Lawrence breaks USD passing record

TORERO STADIUM (10/27/2018) Anthony Lawrence became the University of San Diego's all-time leader in career passing yards, as the Toreros (6-2, 5-0 PFL) dominated the Jacksonville Dolphins (1-5, 0-4 PFL) 59-35 on Saturday afternoon.

Lawrence completed 22 of 28 passes for 284 yards and four touchdowns.

A 16-yard completion to Michael Bandy with 10:37 to play in the third quarter gave Lawrence 11,106 career passing yards, putting him past the previous record held by Mason Mills.

Lawrence is the second quarterback in USD history to pass the 11,000-yard career passing mark.

Michael Bandy, Christian Brooks, Emilio Martinez and Michael Armstead contributed with a touchdown reception apiece.

Armstead also broke off a 100-yard kickoff return for a score.

The Toreros travel to Iowa next Saturday for a 9am kickoff against Drake.
