SDFN Players of the Week (Oct. 24-25)

RB Greg Bell (San Diego State Aztecs)

The Bonita Vista alum rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries to help the Aztecs open their 2020 season with a 34-6 win over UNLV. Bell's outstanding debut comes full circle as he originally committed to San Diego State out of high school before taking the JuCo route then taking his talent to Nebraska. After the entering the transfer portal and sitting out 2019, Bell finds himself back at SDSU where he looks to become the feature back in the Aztecs' loaded backfield.

Contenders

DB Jamar Taylor (San Francisco 49ers)

The Helix alum picked off Cam Newton twice to help the 49ers pull off a 33-6 win over the New England Patriots.

LB Fred Warner (San Francisco 49ers)

Warner, a Mission Hills product, recorded one of four interceptions for the Niners' defense while leading the team in total tackles with seven. Was called "the best linebacker in ball" by CBS analyst Tony Romo.

WR Chris Olave (Ohio State Buckeyes)

Despite an unusual late start to the season for the Big Ten Conference, the former Mission Hills standout showed no signs of rust, racking up six catches for 104 yards before leaving the game late in 3rd quarter due to a head injury. The No. 5 Buckeyes went on to defeat Nebraska 52-17.
