Prep Football: Thompson paces #2 Saints over Carlsbad

CARLSBAD, CA (09/02/2016) In a hard fought football game, the Lancers did all that they could, but the #2 St. Augustine Saints (2-0) proved to be too much as they topped the Carlsbad Lancers (1-1) 28-7.

Rodney Thompson completed 14 of 26 passes for 281 yards and three touchdowns. His targets were Junior Justice (96 yards), Tariq Thompson (9 yards), and Darrell Broussard (80 yards).

Isaac Taylor-Stuart contributed with a 67-yard dash to the end zone in the third quarter.

The Lancers got on the board when Isaiah Ramos connected with Joe Fontenent for 11-yards.

Next week St. Augustine travels to Los Angeles hoping to break a two-game losing streak against Loyola. Carlsbad will look to get back in the winner's circle when they host Imperial.
