  1. Mission Hills at #6? That's just nonsense, my friend. Oceanside is #1, on this everyone agrees. But after that, it's very close between Helix, Cathedral and Mission Hills. The only one of those three that hasn't lost to an inferior opponent is Mission Hills. Cathedral lost to Torrey Pines., Helix lost to Cathedral. Mission Hills only losses are to SDCIF #1 Oceanside and #3 in the state Mission Viejo. Mission Viejo has dominated the Pac-5, the MIssion Hills Grizzlies gave Mission Viejo their most competitive game of the season. Worse, how do you rank MHHS behind LCC, who just got throttled 56-0 by Oceanside, and behind Poway, who lost to LCC?

  2. Thanks for the comment. I rarely get any feedback around here so it's very appreciated.

In my humble but meaningless opinion, Mission Hills hasn’t given me a reason to believe they could beat any of the teams I ranked above them. My rankings are not about style points or the quality of wins and losses. They’re simply based on who I think the best teams in the county are at the moment. #7 Olympian for example is 9-0 and have 6 wins over teams with winning records (MH only has 2), but if they were to play #6 Mission Hills, I think the Grizzlies would come out on top, which is why I ranked them above the Eagles. Not that it matters since playoffs determine champions instead of meaningless rankings that are put together for the purpose of fun and page views.

  3. Mr. Brown,

I would think my alma mater, San Pasqual, deserves a spot in the top 10. We lost to teams ranked #4, #5, and #6--LCC, Poway, and Mission Hills. We had a rough patch where we barely beat Mt. Carmel and Fallbrook, but there were some serious extenuating circumstances that factored into those lackluster performances. If you recall, Head Coach Tony Corley tragically lost his wife to cancer. Many of those coaches have been together for over 20 years, so it was a real family loss. With last week's 19-point comeback over a TOUGH Valley Center team, I think we are hitting on all cylinders at the right time.

  4. Thanks for your comment. Last night's game aside, I should have put San Pasqual in the honorable mentions. Coach Corley has done a great job with this team after replacing key players like Tyler Tony and Jereke Armstrong (Can't wait to see them contribute at USD). Best of luck in the playoffs.
