2015 Prep Football Rankings: Week Two

St. Augustine head coach Richard Sanchez & the defending D-I champs move up a spot after a 41-3 win over Ramona.

The San Diego Football Network is honored to announce that we've been added to the list of local sportswriters who vote on the San Diego Union Tribune's Prep Football Media Poll. While we will continue to post our own rankings, the weekly U-T poll will be featured at the bottom of each post.

Games of the Week

#3 Mission Hills Grizzlies at #9 Torrey Pines Falcons

Coming off a huge win over Crenshaw (Los Angeles, CA), the Grizzlies will visit newly ranked Torrey Pines, who are looking to legitimize their top 10 status. The Falcons are fresh off a 28-7 victory over Steele Canyon. While Mission Hills is ranked third on our poll, 20 local sports writers have voted them #1.

#8 Madison Warhawks at #5 St. Augustine Saints (Mesa College)

Madison will get their shot at redemption after suffering two heartbreaking losses to the Saints last season, the latest being a 49-42 thriller in the 2014 Division I Championship. The Warhawks proved they were top 10 worthy after blowing out state finalist El Capitan last week. St. Augustine is also coming off a blowout victory and will try to keep their momentum going by earning their third straight win over the program from Clairemont Mesa.

  1. Congratulations on being added to the UT poll. I think you actually attend high school football games and will bring more objectivity and knowledge to the poll.

  2. Anybody who has Christian and Bishops anywhere near the top ten has to be questioned... those are really good small level programs but I'm not sure they are even a top 20 team if they had to play against other top 20 level teams...
