LOS ANGELES, CA (05/18/2019) Powered by a stellar defensive outing, the San Diego Rebellion (2-2) escaped Los Angeles with a 13-6 victory over the hosting Bobcats (3-2).
On the first play from scrimmage, the Rebellion drew first blood with a 30-yard touchdown run by Merci Scott.
The Bobcats answered in the second quarter when Knengi Martin’s pass was picked off by Tina Frisby and returned 36 yards for a pick-six. Martin blocked the ensuing extra point to keep the Rebellion lead at 7-6 with 8:47 left in the half.
Following a scoreless third quarter, Martin extended San Diego’s advantage with a 17-yard quarterback keeper for the game-clinching score.
Holding on to a 13-6 lead with 9:45 left to play, the San Diego defense continued to shutdown LA’s offense to earn their second straight win.
Next Saturday, May 25th, the Rebellion returns to Balboa Stadium to host a rematch with the San Diego Surge.

The playoff race in the WNFC is heating up, and despte a rough start to the season, the San Diego Rebellion are still in contention for one of four spots in the Pacific Conference. Coming off their first win of 2019, a tough task awaits them as three of the current top four teams in the conference remain on their schedule.
A few weeks removed from their first loss of the season, the Bobcats look to defeat the Rebellion for the second time. They last played on April 13th where Los Angeles came away with a 20-14 victory at Balboa Stadium. During that game, San Diego held a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Bobcats rallied back with 20 unanswered points.

The Majestics' 22-10 triumph over then-ranked No. 2 Surge was one of the more surprising results of the season, but now they come to town as favorites. Both teams will be looking to improve or maintain their position in a heated playoff race.

Highlights: Enforcers rout San Bernardino
The San Diego Enforcers improved to 4-0 after a commanding 48-0 win over the visiting San Bernardino Spartans. The Enforcers will close out the regular season on May 18th with a road game against the rival LAPD Centurions.
