Chargers trade up to draft Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon
After losing Ryan Mathews to the Philadelphia Eagles during free agency, the San Diego Chargers found their much needed replacement by selecting Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon with the 15th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.
The Chargers sent a 2015 fourth-round pick and a 2016 fifth-rounder to the San Francisco 49ers in order to move up two spots from their original 17th pick. It was the first trade to take place in this year's draft.
Gordon led the country last season with 2,740 rushing yards. He also rushed for 408 yards against Nebraska, breaking an NCAA single-game record that was previously held by former Charger great LaDainian Tomlinson.

Surge not satisfied with season-opening win over Pacific
DB Sonfre Roberson (#2) returned two interceptions for touchdowns.
While a 42-point win is nothing to sneeze at, there was a legit reason for their disappointment.
